These are samples from Atelier Cologne. Each sample (save Sous le Toit de Paris) comes in an old-school waxy envelope, like the ones used to convey stamps, accompanied by a postcard, sealed with a sticker that conjures up the impression of sealed wax. The postcard features a visual description on one side and glorious words on the other side. And see that winding thing atop it all? That’s a leather (or faux-leather) cord, which was wrapped around the whole business like it were some collection of letters sent to some scruffy Marine, who hadn’t seen his girl in half a year. In short, pure class. What the fragrances are like, I cannot yet say, but Atelier clearly has developed the art of appeal.
